As part of a partnership with LYNX, Valencia College students and employees are able to ride the LYNX system absolutely free. Bus services are available on all LYNX fixed-routes and NeighborLink routes during times in which LYNX is in service.

To ride for free, students can access their ticket via the LYNX mobile PawPass.

To use the mobile bus tickets, students will need to sign a consent form at any campus security office, then download the PawPass app and complete the necessary steps for a student pass. The pass will remain current until a student graduates or is no longer active at the college.

If a student does not have access to a mobile device, then LYNX stickers are available by request at any campus security office. Stickers are only valid for one academic year.

If the LYNX PawPass student pass or a Valencia College ID with a current LYNX sticker is not presented when boarding, then the full fare must be paid to ride the bus.

Submit Your Consent Form

Complete and sign the LYNX PawPass consent form. You can download the waiver from your atlas account by navigating to the “Students Tab” in Atlas” and browsing under the “Student Resource Channel.”

Once completing the form you can submit the signed form along with a scanned/photograph copy of a Government Issued ID to lynxpawpass@valenciacollege.edu.

After submitting the required information, it may take up to 48 hours for your account to be activated.

Download and Register

Download the Lynx PawPass app using your device’s respective app store. After opening the app, register for a Lynx account using an email address and password. After registering, navigate to the Your Account section under the menu dropdown and select Valencia College under “Participating College Institutions.”

To verify your eligibility, enter your last name along with your VID number.

Access Your Free Ticket

When you’re ready to ride, you can access your free ticket through the PawPass app. Go to “My Tickets” page, select Valencia College and click “Use Now.”

When you see the bus coming, activate your ticket. Be sure to have the app open with your ticket active and displayed as you’re getting on the bus.

About the Partnership

As part of the partnership, Valencia College will pay LYNX an annual service fee for transit services for Valencia students and employees. The college will not pass this cost on to the students, but will fund directly to LYNX. This allows currently enrolled students, as well as full- and part-time employees, to ride the LYNX system for free.

The agreement also involves larger community collaboration initiatives. In addition to the free transportation to and from the college, Valencia College will work with LYNX on other efforts, including:

• Planning and implementation of additional routes
• Internship programs for students
• A planning and data sharing partnership
• Student research opportunities
• Training for LYNX employees
• Sustainability projects

Who is eligible for the free LYNX service?

All enrolled Valencia College students—both degree-seeking and continuing education—are eligible to ride LYNX for free. The free service will remain in effect until a student graduates or they are no longer actively enrolled at the college.

In addition, the free bus service is available to part- and full-time Valencia College employees.

How can I get the LYNX PawPass app?

• Sign the appropriate consent form at any campus security office.
• Download the LYNX PawPass app on your phone through the Apple App Store or Android’s Google Play Store
• Create an account
• Select Valencia College from the dropdown menu on the “Your Account” page.
• Complete the verification process, which requires your last name and Valencia College ID number
• Access your student pass through your LYNX PawPass account

How do I use the PawPass app for free rides?

Prior to boarding the bus:

• Go to the “My Tickets” page on your PawPass app
• Select Valencia College

• Keep your app open with your ticket active and displayed when getting on the bus

If your ticket is not ready or your phone is not working at time of boarding, you may be asked to allow other passengers to board first.

How long is my LYNX decal valid for?

Stickers will be valid for one academic year. Valencia College’s academic calendar begins in August of each year.

Where can I pick up a LYNX sticker for my Valencia ID?

The official LYNX sticker is available by request and can be picked up at your campus security office. A staff member there will properly adhere the LYNX sticker to your Valencia College ID. Stickers are valid for one academic year.

Is the free LYNX service only available to and from Valencia College campuses?

No. You can get a free ride any day, at any time, on all fixed-route and NeighborLink routes when LYNX is in service.

LYNX operates every day of the year; however, some schedules change or are suspended on Sundays and holidays. Holiday operations include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Can students or employees share their Valencia ID with family members and friends who ride LYNX?

No. The free LYNX service is only available to currently enrolled Valencia College students and employees.

If you should lose your LYNX sticker or Valencia College ID, you will need to obtain a new one from your campus security office.

How early should I get to my bus stop?

Plan on arriving at least five minutes before the estimated time of arrival to avoid missing your bus.

Do the UCF students/staff taking classes at a Valencia College campus need a sticker also? Who at UCF is issuing these stickers?

If you’re a UCF student taking Valencia College classes, you’ll be issued a Valencia College ID. You can use that ID to go to the security office and sign up to get a student pass through the LYNX PawPass app and obtain a LYNX sticker.
